Hi...I'm interested in kiting. What to buy?

Hi all. I'm getting very interested in kiting. I live in Minneapolis, but travel all over the state for work. I am reading as much as I can, and have talked to some people about what kind of gear I will be needing. I am also looking at taking some lessons asap. What can you all tell me about the size and or type of kite I should get?

Should I get a 2 line, 4 line or convertable kite? Should I get about a 16 meter kite for a versitile kite in our wind conditions (for my weight which is about 210lbs)? I want to ride in summer and winter, so I'm concerned that a kite with an air bladder might be difficult to launch in the winter. What about boards? For winter I have a snowboard, and skates.

Also, can I buy used via e-bay, or is that generally a risky option? I want something that is intermediate level...something I can learn on and grow into. I have abot $600-700 to spend. Any suggestions? Also, I if it's important I own a stunt kite (2 line) and have had some experience with that, as well as a little sailing experience. Thanks all!

Best think you can do is take a lesson or two first with Tighe or Coach and talk gear with them while your learning. There is so much stuff on the market that as a beginner you could be in for a real tough time if you don't get some experience before shelling out. The cash spent on the lesson(s) will save you money in the long term.
