Clear Lake (Iowa) Question

Most likely I will be in the Clear Lake (Iowa) area this weekend. I have never sailed there and was looking for advice regarding launch sites. Also, I am concerned about the amount of boat traffic this weekend given that it is a holiday weekend. Considering the dismal forecast, I probably won't have anything to worry about anyways, but I would love to hear from some sailors familiar with Clear Lake. Thanks!

I lived and sailed in Clear Lake for about 7 years. Its a great lake to sail with the best access right next to the city park. There are also a number of public dock sites where you can launch from, along with a DNR access. Feel free to call my cell and I will give you directions - 612-597-5487. Its a big body of water so if you get wind the boat traffic goes away. Clear Lake area is higher than the surronding community, so if it blows at all you will get the wind on the lake - as a avid water skier I hated the wind until I picked up windsurfing - enjoy
