Three kiteboarders and two windsurfers waited and remained patient and we were finally awarded
when the great Wind Spirit (on Spirit Lake, IA) arrived around 3:30! It was like a summer day..and
when the wind came it was full speed ahead planning on my 6.5 Ezzy and 125 liter Bic. There was the ocassional
"hole" in the wind bag but otherwise Ya,,,once that 23ish wind came it was quite steady! The wind stayed up
until dark (which means 9:30 pm). There was one sailor from Hawaii, but he had only a five meter and he left
long before the "Wind Spirit" came in. Maybe there's something to waiting for wind,,,well sometimes.
Get out there when there's wind. Don't wait! Now is the time. When it's June, July, August, September, ther'll be
plenty of opportunities to teach newbies in the summer days of 0-5 mph wind.
Quetzalcoatl out.
The Spirit of Spirit Lake finally showed up!
