Great snow conditions on Wild Rice Lake today. Six to 12 inches of soft powder on top of a hard base. The wind was light today, but Patrick and I got some riding in. Sunday should have better wind. It should be a nice sunny day at Wild Rice. The Manta 3 is a nice kite. I'm going to give the Yakuza GT a try tomorrow. Patrick has plenty of great kites to try. Come up and give them a spin.

Turn left on Rice Lake Dam Road off of county hyw 4. It is NOT Twp road 271 from Jon's post, it is a 4 didgit Twp road number that I can't remember - just look for Rice Lake Dam Road. It is also just a bit north of the point referenced on Bryce's Google Map. See you there.

JUST AN FYI. The turn is at the top of one of the rolling hills approximately 1.5-2 miles past the stop sign on rice lake rd. So watch as you crest each hill for rice lake dam rd.

My spirit craves the ride in some fresh snow and those winds are perfect for practicing back rolls and transition jumps.

I can see myself working on those today and that's not always the case. If i'm not feeling like trying a move than I won't.

I'm sad to pass on today's experience but I can't see how to fit in.

Enjoy the ride and demo.

Cheers

Fun times, the wind was a little light but rideable, sunshine and snow were awesome.

Jenn was working it hard and had many sucesses in one of her first snowkite sessions, launching and relaunching her kite in the light winds, saving her butt by grabbing the kite brake after a fall, doing restarts using the kite to get up from the ground, and having some nice long rides. She's definitely doing the snowkite thing.

Lovely to see everyone and catch up, thanks for your company and a lovely day.

It was good to catch a snowkiting session with the Ozone reps and thanks a million to Patrick for giving us the chance to test fly the 2010 Ozone kites. With the light winter winds we often have around here, I have a feeling the new Zephyr with soon become a common sight.... a sweet kite without the high price tag. Thanks again for the demos, getting familiar with the new kites was a blast!

Sorry I'm so late to post this! I need to check this forum more often. I had a great time Sunday. Thanks so much to Steve B for the lesson! He's a great instructor and his teaching style is perfect for me anyway- we have the same snarky sense of humor and he's not afraid to give me a hard time. As his most difficult student EVER, I also must say that he's very patient and good at getting me to not be mad at myself in a very...umm...direct and honest way. :)

Thank you Patrick for letting me use the kite. Great to see you! Looking forward to Idaho and Utah!
