Snapping foil dicks and Ice Screw Holder Location

Post by WildBill »

I been having my Manta II megachicken loop come out a few times. I noticed that the dick stick inside was split about where it hits the stainless spreader bar harness hook so I'm presuming that was the problem. BTW, thanks Steve!! I got the replacement dick in the mail today.

I also have a tube strapped(for holding my ice screw; thanks Jerry for the idea!) above the stainless spreader bar harness hook. The end of the dick could be hitting/getting pinched by this tube and causing these problems.

Has anyone else experienced this and what do you do about it? Is there another place I can put the tube/ice screw that's easily accesible?

Thanks in Advance for any help ................ Bill

I use a similar method for carrying an ice screw...I keep one in the ice when I launch, but always have this one with me in case I need to stop before getting back to the starting point. Haven't had any issues with the Donkey-D so far...going on four years with it now...

I like using a "ice flute" to hold my spare ice screw. It locks into one of the straps on my harnes and the orange tab keeps the threads in the holder. Add a binder to the hook and it's locked in place and always ready to use.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up,totally worn out and loudly proclaiming. WOW! What a ride!!
