I stepped on something sharp in the water yesterday and ripped my foot open (same leg as my injured knee). May have been a broken bottle since it is such a clean cut. Unfortunately I just thought it was a sharp rock and didn't pick it up....so it's still out there.
About 30Ft out from the right boat launch dock at Waconia.
ooch!

When I bought my first pair of booties, the guy who sold 'em to me said: "last pair I had new lasted one afternoon. I stepped on a bottle that ripped a gash clean through the thisk sole, just scratching my foot. I was pissed off until I realized that could have been my FOOT. Seemed worth every penny of the $40"
I almost always wear booties whenever I am gonna be in any kind of shallow water, and think of that story every time.
Hope foot and knee heal soon!

trash at beaches
While waiting for the wind at Reddy Creek I enjoyed hunting for bottles, cans, broken glass and other garbage along the beach. I filled a grocery bag and the bartendress at Carslona said it was fine to dump it in their dumpsters.
