Ice Fishing (KITE) Extravaganza...Brainerd This Sat.

Post by Boardsports USA »

The Ice Fishing Extravaganza is happening this Saturday in Brainerd, MN.
We need kiters! This is a HUGE event!

The fishing contest is on Hole in the day Bay on the East side of Gull Lake. However, we are going to access the lake at a different location as that location will be nuts. I believe they are expecting about 15,000 people this year with a media frenzy as well. We are looking for riders to come out and show these guys how to really have fun out on the ice...

Also, a question for any smart people out there. We want to paint some advertising on our kites. We are thinking good ole' spray paint with stencils. What should we stay away from? I mean what kind of paint could wreck our kites? What kind of paint will be safe?

Thanks and see you at the EXTRAVAGANZA. Should be a good time.

I know that Aaron Sales advertises he can put logos on kites, but I assume it would cost you alot.

Puffy paints? Head to a craft store man and check out fabric paint is what I would do. Something about the spray paint idea that makes me think their might be something harmful in it.

Hey Jason:

You have to be careful with spray paints. You may have problems with the solvents in the paint eating up your nylon. I will try to get out on sat. for some fisherman jumping. I want to see the crazyness for myself. See you then.

I just heard that permanent marker would be safe. Any thoughts?

Hey Tom,

Sticky back rip-stop nylon works best.

If I wanted to put some advertising messages on my kite, what you recommend I use? I want to make sure to not use a product that will damage the material in the kite!

Thanks,
Tom

The clinic is on Minnetonka somewhere near Kite Island, we'll set the green house and clinic area in an spot out of the way of other riders and in a good spot for the wind.

For those who are interested in registering for other clinics send an email to fly@lakawa.com
