Mpls windy Monday???

Post by scottchapman »

CAn you say cool front...Let's hope the forecast holds:
Mpls: Monday: A 30 percent chance of showers after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69. West northwest wind around 18 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

I am not breaking out the dry suit though...

Monday

Post by alf »

IF anyone is going to a lake on Monday, give me a call on my cell phone at 515-556-8147. I am staying at my cousins house in New Brighton. We are supposed to head back to Des Moines on Mon, but I may stick around for some kiting with other kiters. I am not too familiar with the lakes around here that are good for kiting, so any suggestions would be great. I am still just a beginner, but I can get up on a plane and get up wind sometimes.
Would love to meet up with someone if possible.
Thanks,
Alfie

Let me know if you head out to Waconia or Calhoun on Monday. So far the forecasts look promising. Would be nice to meet some people after work.

I would love to notify people if I am heading out though I am usually in a wind frenzy myself and can forget. And I'm running around getting stuff done to be able to take off. I will try to post here. Right now Waconia is looking like a good choice. All may change by tomorrow. Hope to see some of you there.

Newbie here, just started this past spring, mostly on Lake Minnewasta. Able to get across the lake and do a tack (if you can call it that, takes awhile to turn around) Tried a Gybe once and went flying about 10 feet

Stuck at work looking at the trees going crazy with this wind. Can't wait till 4:30 to head to Waconia. Look forward to meeting other locals as well as getting some pointers.
