Any place possible to kite yet

Is there any place that still has snow or is there any open water anywhere? Got a new kite and want to get out and give it a workout!

The snow cover up here on pelican was awesome when I was out yesterday. 1 inch of crusty snow and no ice spots!

Good rides were had at Lake Washington the last few days of several inches of mashed potato snow. Some of the best surface of the season.

Wahkon bay on Mille Lacs had good snow cover on Tuesday. Fishermen are still driving trucks out for crappie and perch.

Where has everyone been? I've been up on WBL the last three days with the best conditions of the season. SOFT SOFT SOFT surface, so much fun on the snowboard, carving new tracks, hitting the occasional drift, the winds in the high teens to low 20s, sun shining....what could be better?

By the end of the day yesterday the snow was getting a bit thin but still very ridable. The warm temps have softened the ice underneath so you never slide out. I'm sure the lakes to the west have to have more snow on them since they got more in the last storm. Anyone been on Waconia lately?

The ice is plenty safe. I saw a truck driving across the lake yesterday.

yes! there are still places to ride, I think we scored at WBL 5 days out of the last week!

started out today running errands, got lured by a few blowing flags.

there is still rides out there! WBL, SW bay, was better than I expected, have a look:

Was out on Waconia Tues, and today. Still plenty of snow cover with good ice. If you make it out in the mornings the conditions are fast, but will get sticky around noon. I was able to make a full loop around the island this morning before the wind got really light. There are a few wet spots at the boat landing where the trucks have been driving. I've been putting in by the beach off of Paradise Road.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up,totally worn out and loudly proclaiming. WOW! What a ride!!
